Dentures, also known as false teeth or prosthesis, are a removable tooth replacement option and can replace multiple teeth at once.
Denture technology has come a long way and today they look a lot more natural and fit better ever before.
Patients have a number of denture options to consider, and our oral health care professionals will help to advise:
- Complete dentures: also known as full dentures, these are used to replace all of the natural teeth in the upper or lower jaw. They are held in place by suction and sometimes with the help of dental adhesive.
- Partial dentures: these are used to replace some missing teeth and are held in place by clasps or other attachments that fit around the remaining natural teeth.
- Chrome dentures: have a cast metal framework that is strong, light and well hidden. They are more expensive than acrylic dentures, but function better and last longer. Chrome dentures are also hypoallergenic and rarely cause an allergic reaction.
- Acrylic dentures: make for an easy and highly affordable option and are very easy to put in and take out.
The Reef Dental Centre will take impressions of the patient’s mouth and then the dentures will be made and fitted.
