Our primary focus is on patient education. We believe it’s essential to take the time to thoroughly explain what’s happening with your oral health. This way, you can fully understand the importance of any necessary treatments and feel empowered to take control of your dental health.

How does the saying go? “Two heads are better than one.” When you book our new patient exam, this appointment is 60 minutes just with our dentist for a comprehensive examination.

The next appointment is with our Oral Health Therapists to start your preventative dental journey, which usually involves dental cleaning.

Our OHT’s – Kellie & Jen, will provide education regarding how to improve your oral hygiene routine before a detailed gentle scale and clean.

One of the main reasons we opened The Reef was so that we could do things differently — namely, so that we could focus on the quality of the patient experience, instead of patient quantity, which is unfortunately often the focus of many dental clinics.

We are a hygiene-focused practice. This means we prioritise prevention and maintenance. Many dentists inadvertently focus their practice on intervention, and while repairing teeth is obviously something we are passionate about, we place extra emphasis on doing everything we can in conjunction with the patient to ensure their teeth remain healthy and don’t get to the stage where they need to be repaired.

Frequently Asked Questions

We all love that feeling after having our teeth freshly cleaned. After your initial examination appointment, our lovely receptionist will schedule you an appointment with our OHT’s for a thorough scale and clean, along with oral hygiene instruction.

As for your 6-monthly checkups, after your initial appointment, your hygiene maintenance appointments will include both a checkup and clean together!

If we had a penny for every patient who said, “WOW, I’ve never had such a thorough examination,” we wouldn’t have to work!
