Wisdom teeth usually push through the gums when people enter their late teens, twenties or even older.
Not everyone has wisdom teeth, but for those who do they can create a problem because there is insufficient space at the rear of the jaw to allow them to easily develop.
When wisdom teeth become wedged in or “impacted” they may cause severe problems and must be removed. This is a very common procedure, and it is recommended that action is taken as soon as possible before problems get worse.
It is usually best to have troublesome wisdom teeth removed while the patient is young as their roots have not completely formed and the bone surrounding the tooth is softer.
If you believe you are experiencing problems with “impacting” wisdom teeth, please make an appointment and we will book you in at the earliest availability.
