CHILD DENTAL BENEFIT SCHEDULE
To help enable children develop and maintain good oral health early in life, the Australian Government’s Child Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS) provides access to up to $1026 in benefits over two consecutive calendar years.
To be eligible for the CDBS a child or young person:
- Must be aged 17 years or under
- Their family must receive Family Tax benefit A or a relevant Australian Government payment
- Must be eligible for Medicare
To apply you can either be the child’s:
- Parent or guardian
- Approved care organisation
DHS PATIENTS
Patients who are registered for Dental Health Services get heavily subsidised treatment.
Here in Western Australia, the State Government also provides funding for high quality, efficient oral health services in the community.
Subsidised general and emergency dental care for financially or geographically eligible people is available.
Please note that treatment is subsidised by the Western Australian government up to a maximum of 75% of the cost of the treatment. The precise level of dental subsidy is based upon Centrelink income which is assessed by DHS.
