We do absolutely everything we can to ensure your experience is painless. We also know that many people avoid getting the dental care they need out of fear of the pain visiting a dentist might entail, and so we do everything we can to mitigate those fears and ensure you are as comfortable as possible.
Regardless of whether you’re visiting us for continuing care, which is typically as pleasant an experience as visiting a dentist can be, or you’re seeing us for something more complex that might be among the less enjoyable dental experiences, we can offer you Bose noise-cancelling headphones so you can tune out while you’re having your dental work done and watch the TV we have installed on the ceiling (yes, we have a TV on the ceiling).
In trying to make your experience with us a positive one, there are things we will always do when performing procedures. We use topical anaesthetics prior to all injections, and we always inject carefully, incrementally and slowly, which help contribute to a pain-free experience.
We also use various implements in the mouth, such as dental dams and small blocks, which help to eliminate a lot of the more unpleasant things that go along with having to hold your mouth open for some time while a dentist completes their work.
We want your experience with us to be one that lessens your anxiety around dental procedures, so if you have had poor or traumatic experiences in the past, or you typically gag or have other automatic reflexes that make performing dental work prohibitive, then we want to know about these things so that we can discuss various forms of dental sedation to put you at ease so you can get the treatment you need without being fearful.
While we certainly hope that our style and the great experience our patients have with us is all the reassurance you will need, there are multiple forms of sedation that can be offered in various scenarios, and we will help you understand the best solution for your needs.
For more invasive procedures — or when patients have more severe levels of fear — we can offer IV sedation and we will have an anaesthetist in the clinic to administer this form of sedation.
Regardless of your previous experiences, our dentists will provide a sedation solution to suit your needs and budget to help overcome any fears you may have and ensure your oral health remains optimal.
